Its Friday night and the track day is just hours away. I was hoping to have the Skyline ready much earlier than now but one thing has lead to another and here we are. The car as it sits now has HKS SSQV blow of valves fitted. These just happened to be lying around and i personally would not have gone out and done this mod first as the standard ones do the job. In saying that the car has had no ill effects from fitting them. It has also been very hard to tell if they have improved the performance of the car although i think there is a subtle difference in the 3-4 and 4-5 shift. The HKS SLD fitted around the same time has now had a test run and i can confirm it works fine, achieving 227km/h on a quick run. Some standard ball joints were acquired and have replaced the "flogged out" ones that were in the car and yes that was the cause of the steering vibration from the last track day. The suspension has been replaced for the second time since last track day, this time with some second hand 50mm mono tube bilsteins that were rebuilt by Trent @ Quadrant and matched with Eibach 4kg/mm all round.
To allow ease of fitment for the sandwich plate from the oil cooler hicas had to go and a hicas lock bar was installed in its place. One of the major benifits of this is around a 20kg wieght saving as well as no rear steer drift at high speed.
Also squeezed in last weekend was a HKS oil cooler picked up on eBay. This couple hour job turned into a couple of day job but Will from Wills Performance encouraged me to persist reminding me of the 150*c oil temps to get it done.
Finally an alignment from Craig @ Trackside 4* Castor 1* Camber and 1.6mm Toe In on the front and 1.5mm toe in and 1* Camber in the rear. And Just Like That bring on PI
